Day 9 - Ucluelet (AKA "Ukee")
Morning fog again and rain forecast for later in the day meant some limited outdoor activity today. We decided to stay in Ucluelet in case the weather turned nasty.
We set off on a loop hike at the start of The Wild Pacific Trail. This had many vistas along the rocky and foggy coast of Ukee and again some interesting trees along the trail.
The trail took longer than expected just because there were so many places to stop and enjoy the view!
We drove to a coffee shop for a beverage and snack then went to another trailhead at Brown's Beach. Unfortunately by this time the winshield wipers were on fast intermittent so we only explored the trail here for a half hour. Some beautiful homes and resorts in this area.
It was raining a bit heavier so what to do but shop for some Ukee T-Shirts.
We returned to our apartment and I could hear the bark of a sea lion. One of the charter fishing boats had attracted one and it was swimming and barking in the inlet just off our place.
The rain continued so it was time to turn the fireplace on and get caught up on laundry and sorting out photos (and a glass of wine).
We get lots of boat traffic by our place and I enjoy watching all of the fishing boats leaving and returning to harbour.
