Day 17 - Gibsons to Whistler

It was an early morning to catch the 6:20 ferry to Horeshoe Bay just outside of Vancouver. I was hoping for some nice sunrise photo opportunities but as it started to get light, it looked like another foggy morning until I stepped out onto the deck and quickly realized that campfire smell was smoke from forest fires!

We arrived in Horshoe bay just as Starbucks was opening and had breakfast before the drive to Whistler.

We couldn't check-in to our condo until 2:00 pm so we parked and wandered around Whistler Village.

The smoke was so thick you could not see the mountains. Later, I found a real time BC Air Quality web site that had Whistler rated at 10+ on a 0 to 10 scale! We should all have been dead! The forecast is for it to clear up tomorrow.

We had lunch at a cool bar and watched some football.

By then we were able to check-in to our condo. A nice two storey unit with balconies on each level and a hot tub on the bedroom balcony! We didn't feel like going out for supper so I went across the street to this nice market in the village and got some tenderloins to cook for supper and we called it an early evening.
