Day 11 - Ucluelet to Quadra Island
Time to leave "Ukee" and move on with our trip. This was the first morning that we had any kind of a semi-foggy morning so we got to see the sunrise over the hills across the bay. One of the many fishing charters heading out.
On our way to catch the ferry to Quadra Island, we stopped at Cathedral Grove provincial park to stretch our legs and walk among some very old Douglas Fir and Cedar trees in an old growth preserve.
There was a nice 2km boardwalk trail through the old growth forest.
We stopped for a picnic lunch at the town of Qualicum Beach and enjoyed the view of the Straight of Georgia. This is a very nice quaint town with a nice downtown and great waterfront. We drove the alternate coast road to Campbell River and boarded the ferry to Quadra Island. Only a ten minute ride once you get your vehicle on.
We stayed at a nice lodge at the southern tip of Quadra. We had a delicious supper on the deck then returned to our room for some nice views of the water from our balcony.
