Day 20 - Whistler to Vancouver

Ironic, the least smoky day and it is time to leave Whistler. We left around 10:00 am and made our way down the Sea to Sky Highway stopping a few time to take in the sights. This is the Tantalus range of mountains.

We decided to stop at the Capalano Suspension Bridge tourist attraction. Chris had been there 50 years ago but I was sort of interested in checking it out. It has turned into a theme park over the years and is more than just the bridge over the gorge. There is a cantilevered narrow walkway along the cliff and a series of suspended bridges in the forest canopy. This provides added enjoyment if it wasn't thrilling enough to cross the suspension bridge. There are also a number of interpretive boardwalks through the park.

After finishing here we still had some time to kill before check-in at our apartment so we went to Capilano Lake which is a major reservoir for the City of Vancouver.

After crossing the Lyon's Gate Bridge we stopped at Prospect Point for a view of the harbour and North Vancouver.

We got settled into our apartment and took a short walk over to Davie Street which is packed with restaurants. The concierge at our place recommended an Italian restaurant and it just happened to be half price wine night! The meal was good also.
